As with every new business, at Artemis Assets we are frequently asked the following question: “so what’s so special about you” or “with so many real estate agents out there, why should I engage you”? Everybody wants the best outcome, why would anyone waste time on a real estate agent that is average? These are legitimate questions, especially in this era when we are all constantly bombarded with information and so many people are seeking our attention.
The tricky bit is that there is no easy answer. Even if the investment results are extraordinary and the financial returns speak for themselves, we still need to be able how they came about. If it wasn’t luck, then what was it? There are many times in life when we are confident that we can do something very well or we are convinced about something, but we struggle to explain the ‘Why’ and ‘How’ to others.
After undergoing a lot of soul-searching, we have ended up with the following points that we think are the ingredients of the Artemis Assets secret sauce.
These are not the only points, but in good old Pareto 80/20 fashion we think that they are the most impactful.
We are a buyer’s agent: Unlike 99% of real estate agents out there, our mandate comes from the buyers. The vast majority of the real estate agents are waiting for the sellers to put a property in the market before making any phone calls. We work for the buyers and we focus only on the buyers’ interests. Our biggest concern is to make sure that our buyers are happy with their transactions because we want them to trust us. To trust us both with the management of their assets and also with their next purchase. If we help buyers become wealthier by building a bigger portfolio of assets that means repeat business for Artemis.
We focus on potential: We aim to look past the present state of a neighborhood or of a property and visualize what is their full potential. With a mix of experience and technology we present a full business case to our clients. For example, the costs and benefits of a refurbishment, the evolution of the surrounding areas, the building’s potential, the lifestyle trends that affect the rental prices. All these factors are very important for investors but are not visible to the untrained eye.
We practice active asset management: While we want our clients to enjoy passive income, that doesn’t mean that we are passive. We manage our clients’ portfolio actively to respond to all the variables that can affect their rental yield, like daily price trends, regulation, or the macro environment. We learned our tricks during the Covid period, when we completely changed our business model within a few weeks to adapt to the lockdowns and the scarcity of bookings from tourists. We ensure that our clients’ portfolio can withstand any shocks and can keep churning rental income without volatility.
On other news, Artemis will soon embark on a financing round to help fuel our plans for growth. Beyond the fund raising we are also looking for strategic partners that will assist us with their knowledge and network.
